| Dear Parents, Welcome to the 2002-2003 school year. Your child will be in room 210. I am your child's teacher. My name is Mrs. Blaszczyk. I have been teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for more than 13 years. I plan to have an exciting and interesting school year. With your help your child will learn many new things and achieve many successes. I need your support to enable your child to reach his or her full potential. Every night your child will have homework. Please look for the homework folder. This folder will contain the homework assignments. Important notices and announcements will also be sent home in this folder. Your child is required to read 30 minutes every night and record it in the homework folder. Please initial this record every night. The reading is a homework assignment in addition to the written homework. Book reports will be required. Plenty of advance notice and instructions for the book reports will be given prior to the due date. Every Friday your child will be tested. These tests will be a review of the week's instructions. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at any time during the school day. I am available for parent meetings before and after school but please call and set up an appointment.
